Did you know that taking time to complete a free/reduced meals application can have a positive effect on your family but also on our school? That's right, many people who qualify assume they won't and never take the few minutes needed to find out. As a result, they miss out on the opportunity to save some money, and CES misses out on additional funding that increases with the number of qualified students we have. If you have never taken time to complete a free/reduced lunch application, we encourage all parents to fill it out. Or if it has been a while, these guidelines are set annually and seem to benefit more families each year, so we recommend families apply annually. And in case you're curious, all students go through the lunch line the exact same way, with the exact same lunch card, so there is no way to tell if a child has free/reduced lunch prices. In fact, it is possible a free/reduced lunch student would never even know they qualified!
You can fill out an application here: www.myschoolapps.com

We are excited to announce that this year students in grades 3-6 will have a 9 weeks worth of weekly swim lessons! Third grade will go each Wednesday for the first nine weeks, then 4th grade second nine weeks, and 5th and 6th will go third and last nine weeks. Swimsuits will not be provided, and usually will available for end of season sales soon, so you may want to pick one up. Please keep practicality, functionality, and modesty (all classes are co-ed) in mind as you shop!

CES is currently seeking a dynamic, outgoing, uber amazing teacher to be the next member of our school family! Interested applicants can email rhufford@carroll.k12.in.us or apply at carroll.k12.in.us.

Reminder: The 2023-24 school brings with it the implementation of late start Wednesdays! Buses and the school day will be delayed 1 hour to allow for staff professional development and student data analysis. This will be every Wednesday (with exception of the first and last day of school and the day before Christmas Vacation, which are all 8:10 start times). We will be sharing more information in the near future, but it's never to early to begin planning for this new procedure!

Back to School Night is coming! Meet the teachers, visit classrooms, and see friends on August 8 from 5:00-6:00pm. We look forward to seeing everyone then!
